Preparing for Employment

Social connectivity in College as prep for employment

My son is successful academically and to date in the work environment (he held the same job from 14 - 19, and has advanced to lead lab tech at University). However, his disability becomes quite apparent at school in that he has few friends. Social maturity develops through friendships and lack of social maturity, not to be confused with work ethic and ability, develops through friendships. It would be helpful if post-secondary institutions were more involved in connecting ALL students to one another in the first semester of freshman year.
